Ammonites (Asterocerus obtusum)

Meetings

Talks on a wide variety of natural history topics are given by invited speakers each month (except July and August), usually on the second Tuesday. Workshops and tutorials in species identification, field techniques and photography are often held before lectures.

Because of the current Scottish and UK Government COVID-19 restrictions, our evening talks are taking place on line, and we hope to hold such field excursions as are feasible, depending on the restrictions at the time.

Winter Meetings for 2020-21 will take place on-line (on Zoom), see Winter Programme for speakers and topics; the Zoom link will appear on the News page in advance of the meeting.

Outdoor Meetings, take place usually between April and October on certain evenings, half days, full days and weekends, to study all aspects of natural history in the field and to visit places of interest. We are hoping that some field excursions will take place in 2021, as the restrictions are eased; see Field Excursions for provisional dates and locations. Full details of excursions are available to members in our newsletters, however we welcome non-members - who should contact GNHS for further details.
